I want #004

Also wildly lusting after the new Estee Lauder Mad Men collection. Part of the reason why Mad Men is so brilliant is because of the fashion and makeup from the 60s. This mini collection is beautiful, look at that compact *swoon*.
It's available from the EL website prices £20-£48.00.

Have you got your eye on anything this week?

Essie Cute As A Button

I picked this up in Boots yesterday and couldn't wait to slap it on my nails. It's one of the most hyped shades from Essie and I can certainly see why. It's the prettiest coral which changes from pink to orange in different lights. This is two coats but looking at it three would be better. It's making a lovely change looking down and seeing this rather than wintery dark or red shades.
All in all, yum!

Have you tried any Essie polishes? Have any shade recommendations for me?

Haul! Boots, Topshop, Next.

I've been shopping! Love payday weekend :)

Let's start with Boots:
I am loving Essie at the moment and growing my collection rapidly. The range of colours is ridiculous so I'm going to be able to keep on purchasing for a long time. I picked up Fiji and Cute as a Button. Expect posts on both soon, it's love!

The hype around Rimmel Apocalips has been ridiculous so I couldn't ignore them when I was in store the other day. I don't buy an awful lot of makeup from Boots etc-the stands are always a right mess and it puts me off looking-but these were on offer for £5.99 so I couldn't say no. I picked up Nova which I'm not sure about yet. It's a nice colour but makes my lips look a bit dry and thin. Hmm, maybe a review coming soon.

And finally I got a new Organix Moroccan Argan Oil conditioner. I've used this a few times before and it's lush. Smells great, makes hair amazingly soft and shiny. Two gripes, it never seems to last that long and it's tricky to get out of the bottle. Anyone else found this with the Organix products?

And now Topshop.

I went in wanting to spend money but just couldn't find any clothes that grabbed my attention. Hate it when that happens. I did find this ivory top with black lace details round the collar which can easily be dressed up or down. I found this cute 3D triangle necklace for a fiver and picked up my first ever Topshop makeup purchase (!!) cream blusher in Head Over Heels.

And finally Next.

I got the bag! I've been eyeing this up for ages and featured it in my last I Want post. I was a bit undecided because it is pretty massive but I saw it in person and couldn't not :) I also bought this beautiful rose gold watch which is my new obsession. Think it was about £20.

So that's my haul for today. Have you had a payday splurge?

February Favourites

It's finally March hoo-bloody-rah!! Hopefully we've seen the last of this grizzly weather and the sun will come out? Maybe? Please?!

Anyway, here's what I was loving last month.

*Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel in Flushed -this thing has not been off my lips/cheeks all month. See full review here.

*Clinique High Impact Mascara-I've actually been using this for ages but only in mini sample sized tube from various Bonus Time gifts. I definitely need to purchase a full sized one because I really love it. It's properly black, gives amazing volume and definition without looking spidery.

*Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 54 Boy-this is the perfect 'my lips but better' colour and the formula is to die. Been reviewed to death on other blogs but it's one of those few products that is totally worth the hype.

*Dolce & Gabbana The One-this is my all time favourite perfume. I am terrible at describing fragrances, so I won't bother. 'The fragrance features top notes of mandarin and peach that leads into a heart of jasmine and ends with a base of vanilla, amber and musk. The One for Her is a warm, oriental floral with modern sensuality. It's a fragrance with a strong personality and a contrasting golden sweetness. Created for the ultimate diva, the one is at once tempting, modern and glamorous, embracing a touch of classicism.' Well that's just me down to a t :)

*OPI Tickle My France-y- the perfect dirty pink nude. Keeping me looking polished on lazy days.

*MAC Powersurge Eye Kohl-this battered shrunken eyeliner is actually my second one. I've been using it for a long time because it gives definition without making eyes look smaller. I'll be repurchasing again soon as it's getting down to a nub and it's a bit embarrassing.

*Paul Mitchell Strength shampoo-I got this in January's Glossy Box and whilst I don't know if it's made my hair any stronger it definitely makes it soft and quite shiny.

What were you loving in February?

p.s. I got this up on the first of the month for the first time ever, yay!

Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser

Following the success of Clinique Redness Solutions foundation I thought I'd try more products in the range to tackle my loathed rosy complexion. On investigation I found their cleanser is one of those gel to oil types which I love.

A huge tube of 150ml for £17.00 seems reasonable enough for a high end cleanser and I read the blurb with high expectations

'Extra-gentle, non-drying cream-gel melts away makeup and impurities. Helps calm the appearance of visible redness, irritation while preserving skin's moisture balance. Smoothes with mild exfoliation. Leaves skin clean, comforted.'

Honestly, it's not so good. It's hard to control how much cleanser comes out and the formula was not as thick as I'd hoped meaning you have to get it on your face fast before it starts to run about on your hand. I massage it into my face expecting it to change into an oil, and nothing happened! I used a muslin cloth to take it off and go again (always wash my face twice-once for the makeup once for the skin) but my skin didn't feel properly clean yet. I have third go and find I still need a generous going-over of Bioderma after before I'm happy.

I used this product for a few weeks in different ways hoping one day it would click but sadly no.

I think I've been told fibs by the Clinique SA, this is not the product I was expecting at all and it is quite frankly rubbish at removing makeup. It has also made no change to the pinkness of my skin. Not that I was expecting it to.

All in all I would say swerve this and buy The Body Shop Nutriganics Cleansing Gel for half the price.

Any skin care that you regret buying?
